Independence Day

ok, ok, so I know this is really late, but I have been really busy! :) the 4th was quiet and laid back this year. Keely and Asher were in our neighborhood parade - K decorated her bike with balloons, streamers, and ribbon. Of course her favorite part was decorating herself :) I drew stars on the kids with red and blue markers (faces, hands, and ankles), put patriotic ribbon in keely's hair, and yes, even painted her fingernails with red, white, and blue stars! I know, I'm such a sucker for holiday glam!! It's soo nerdy but soo fun :)
Asher LOVED the stars...of course you can't see because I suck as a photographer, but he actually has 11 stars and he wanted more, but his sister cut in insisting that it was her turn :) see, my boy also loves holiday glam :) I decorated his stroller a little and all the neighbors that weren't in the parade came out on the street to wave, spray silly string, and shoot water at the parade goers...one house even gave each kid a glow stick with 3 different colors on it for that night - both the kids fell asleep holding theirs tight :)

After the parade keely decorated the table with flowers, star streamers, and confettii that I had left over in my "party box." we made red jello squares in blue clouds (cool whip) and pudding treats that alternated red and blue...and had ourselves a little bbq with g'ma and g'pa. we just watched a firework show our neighbors put on every year in the front culdesac and then watched the big ones from the deck out back - super conveinent with no crowd hassel and our very own musical soundtrack provided by justin himself :) (yes, it was as awesome as you can imagine) haha. Justin and I amused ourselves in between festivities with a little guitar hero

so many things....hahaha...but at that particular moment she just was upset about having to wear her bike helmet (seeing as how keely did not have to wear one :)
