Keely went for a Girl Pirate theme this year! For the invitations we cut out treasure maps and put the info on the back, rolled them up and tied them with a pink ribbon, added some pink sand and viola! the girls were so excited! Keely had her little heart set on a pink treasure chest cake....sooo, being the wonderful mom that I am I embarked on this (probably way over my head) feat. I think it turned out ok for how ridiculously hard it was!! If she was older I probably would have had to go to an actual baker for this one, but as it was she was completely happy :)
Because of the chaos in our actuall house at the time (10 people living under the same roof doesn't exactly equal zen like living quarters) we went to a waterpark centered around a pirate ship!! aint that a piece of luck ;) It was so hot that day it felt like august so it was perfect - all the girls got water swords to pirate it up for an hour in the waves.
Keely insisted on being "Captian Keely" the entire day :) she had a pink sword while her crew was sadly given green and yellow ones...she led her scallywags well.
After all the swimming we came here to eat pizza, cake, and open present - the girls were so funny with all their pirate gear and had a blast - hands down the easiest party I ever threw
She got some really cool gifts including an entire set of silly head pens and
her very own camping chair!! she was the only one in the family without one so it was perfect. before she went to bed that night she said "mom, thanks for the best birthday party I EVER HAD!!" all in all, a success. Now if she would just stop growing....:)
I am sincerely WAY impressed with the birthday cake. You should get a gold star for that one. I'm not sure I would have even tried to attempt such a feat. The birthday looked like it was a ton of fun!! Happy Birthday Keels!!
I love the girl pirate theme! Madison is turning 6 at the end of Nov. and she changes her mind daily on the theme. Maybe I will suggest this one and just use all your ideas... He He!
